The Lous\u00e3 mountain range has a Mediterranean endogenous flora with oaks, cork oaks, arbutus and odoriferous plants. There are also other species such as wild and black pines, acacia, mimosa, cedar, fir, eucalyptus and various hardwood species. The ridges and streams have heather, gorse and broom. The fauna is also vast with blackbirds, hawks, owls, weasels, foxes, otters, rabbits, wild boar, deer, salamanders, frogs, newts, snakes, tortoises, lizards, vipers among many others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sic\u00f3 Massif has approximately 430 km2 and reaches 553 meters above sea level at its highest point. This territory includes the Mountains Mouro and Alvai\u00e1zere with peculiar landscape features due to the presence of limestone and the karst evolution processes, forming a network of caves and water mirrors with unique features. The Sic\u00f3 lands have important traces of the Roman occupation, as well as marine fossils.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bread route is an activity designed to show the entire bread pathway from the cereal to the table. Along rails and traditional paths that link the village to the water mills, visitors will be able to enjoy the rich landscape of Ribeira de Alge valley whose water irrigates the fields and moves the mills, where they can watch the traditional process of cereal milling.<\/span><\/p>\n
