It is also a great place for wader observation. The species that stand-out are greater flamingo (<em>Phoenicopterus roseus)<\/em>,<em> snowy egret (Egretta thula)<\/em> and grey heron (<em>Ardea cinerea)<\/em>. In the nesting season diversity is lower, especially the pied stilt (<em>Himantopus himantopus<\/em>) and the Kentish plover (<em>Charadrius alexandrines<\/em>). In the surrounding areas can be sighted sometimes flocks of spotless starling (<em>Sturnus unicolor<\/em>) and, in the winter, common starling (<em>Sturnus vulgaris)<\/em>. The mouth of the Mondego is a place of occurrence of ruddy turnstone (<em>Arenaria interpres<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Additional Information:\u00a0<\/strong>The activity includes guide, transportation, and insurance excluding meals and other personal expenses. Takes place along the Mondego River and implies a minimum route of 188km (distance from Uma Casa Portuguesa to the river\u2019s mouth: 94km).
